BARAHONA, JOSÉ (Lisbon, 1969) is a director, sound technician, screenwriter and producer. He graduated from the Lisbon College for Theatre and Cinema having completed his studies in Cuba (Escuela Internacional de Cine e TV de San Antonio de Los Baños)  and New York ( New York Film Academy).

As an author of a vast work the movies Manuscrito( Lost Manuscript) stand out, having its comercial debut in Brazil in 2012 winning several awards. There is even a book including the transcription of the texts and depositions from the movie made by Mr. Barahona himself. Also worth mentioning is his latest feature film Estive em Lisboa e lembrei de voce(I was in Lisbon and I remembered you), adapted from the novel with the same name by Luiz Ruffato, a testimony to brazilian emigration in Portugal.

His works reflect a deep social and political concern but all emphasize the common man as universal protagonist.

TREFAUT, SÉRGIO (1965) was born on the 23rd of February in São Paulo, son of a Portuguese father and French mother. He travels to Portugal in 1974 in order to escape the military dictatorship in Brazil and studied Philosophy at the prestigious Sorbonne university between 2983 and 1988 where took a master’s degree.

His career as a filmmaker is filled with successes amongst which we can find the award winning documentary Lisboetas, winning a prize for best movie at the Indie festival in Lisbon in 2014. The movie Alentejo where he was assistant director also won best movie in that same festival. He was also director for the documentary festival doc Lisboa between 2004-05 and 2007-2010 and a jury in different international film festivals. Documentary is his field of expertise, where he transforms ordinary stories into  captivating testimonies with which he brings people into movie theaters . Emigration and cultural roots are central themes in his works.

GAIVÃO, MARIANA (Coimbra, 1985) was born on february 21st, 1984 in Oeiras, Portugal. She is an editor and director known for Solo, 2012 , Cigano, 2013 and Entre os dedos, 2008. She studied Photography at Ar.co and also Cinema at the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema in the area of Directing. 

Additionally, since 2007, she has also been working as a film editor, working with, amongst others, Marco Martins, João Pedro Rodrigues, Tiago Guedes and João Salaviza.

Her social concerns are well known, she argues that now, more than ever, there is a need to film, hence her support to the kurdish cause.

CLEMENTE, CLÁUDIA (1970) was born in Porto and graduated in architecture in 1995 in that same city, she also studied cinema in both Lisbon and Barcelona. Her first book of tales “Caderno Negro” was published in 2003 with the publisher Tinta Permanente and her second one “A fábrica da noite” with publisher Ulisseia in 2010. Her play “Londres” won the S.P.A (Portuguese Authors Society) grand prize in 2011 published by Imprensa Nacional da Casa da Moeda and her first novel “A casa azul” came out in 2014. She completed a script writing for feature films degree from London film school at the Gulbenkian Foundation in 2006 and a cinema degree at the Restart School in 2007. She has directed several short films and one documentary and her movies have been shown in Portugal, Brazil, Uruguay, India, Cuba and Italy having various prizes in different film festivals.

LARANJEIRA, MÁRCIO (1982) was born on september 25th, 1982 in Porto, Portugal. He is a director and producer well known for Yet it Remains (2011), Uma rapariga da sua idade (2015) and Fuera de cuadro (2010) 

This young director won the Indie Lisboa International Film Festival twice, in 2010 with the short movie Fuera de Cuadro and in 2011 with La Ilusion te Queda. Márcio Laranjeira is also one of the faces of Lovers and Lolly Pops based from Porto, since 2005. The label that he runs has published more than seventy albuns by both portuguese and international artists. Nevertheless he still has time to take on new projects.

PESSUTO, KELEN (1978) received her doctorate for studies in social anthropology in the University of São Paulo, Brazil having as a basis for discussion “Bahman Ghdabi’s Kurd-Iranian cinema and ways of thinking about ethnofiction”. Over the years she has dedicated herself to matters surrounding Islam, Iranian cinema, anthropology and theatre. In her thesis, several times she refers that the narrow bond between cinema and anthropology should be taken into consideration seeing that both emerged around the same time. She is also an actress, graduated by the school-theatre Célia Helena and participates actively in several research groups at the University of São Paulo.

GALLI, DAUTO (1970) was born in Porto and graduated in architecture in 1995 in that same city, she also studied cinema in both Lisbon and Barcelona.
